Transparent Soap V's Opaque Soap
Natural,
transparent soap is considerably milder than opaque soap. Although all
handmade soaps
retain their naturally formed glycerine component, transparent soap has added
glycerine to increase its humectant properties. It also contains sucrose,
a natural preservative that enhances and prolongs the moisturising elements in
the base oils. Because of the presence of natural additives, a transparent
bar of soap contains only 50 - 60% of actual soap in contrast to opaque soap
that contains 80 -90%. This difference explains why transparent bars have
a shorter life span in your shower and sink. Even though both transparent
and opaque soap have about the same pH value, transparent soap rinses off the
skin much more easily. This accounts for its exceptional
mildness. Many people who suffer form skin disorders such as eczema,
dermatitis and psoriasis have found our transparent soap to be non-irritating
and extremely beneficial in the healing process of their
skin.
