Create a Greener, Cleaner Home

General Cleaner
1 tsp Borax
2 Tbsp White Vinegar
2 cups hot water
Essential Oil blend of:
Eucalyptus
Tea Tree
Lavender (Total of 10 - 20 drops)

Mix all ingredients together until borax dissolves. Pour into a spray bottle. Shake before use. Spray on all surfaces (except glass). Scrub or wipe over with a damp cloth. Rinse with clean damp cloth.

Window / Glass Cleaner
Juice from one lemon (or 20 drops of Lemon essential oil)
2 cups water or soda water
10 Drops of Peppermint essential oil
1 teaspoon cornflour

Mix all ingredients together and pour into spray bottle. Shake well before use. For best results use newspaper to shine.

Metal Cleaner
Juice of two lemons
1/3 of a cup of baking soda (bi-carb)
1 tsp fine salt
6 Tbsp clay powder

Mix all ingredients together until you have a paste. Rub paste onto metal with extremely fine steel wool. Allow to sit for 10 minutes. Wash off with a sponge and clean water. Polish with a soft piece of material (felt, flannel). Cleans all metals except for aluminium. For aluminium substitute cream of tartar for the bi-carb and omit the salt.

Toilet Cleaner    (Suitable for Septic Systems)
2 Tbsp baking soda
2 Tbsp vinegar
1 tsp Orange essential oil
1 tsp Grapefruit essential oil
2 cups water

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. When the vinegar and bi-carb mix they will foam. Allow to subside before pouring into spray bottle. Shake before use.

Floor Cleaner
2 Tbsp Borax
2 Tbsp White vinegar
Enough hot water for mop bucket
Essential oil blend:
Disinfecting - Lavender, Eucalyptus, Tea tree, Pine
De-greasing - Lemon, Lime, Orange, Grapefruit, Pine

Use as singular oils or a blend. Total of 15-20 drops.

For use on tiles, vinyl and treated wooden floors. Dissolve borax in hot water before use.

Soft Soap Cleaner for Bath and Shower
5 cups of soap flakes (or grated re-batched unscented soap)
½ cup of baking soda (bi-carb)
1 tsp Borax
6 cups of hot Peppermint tea
1 tsp Eucalyptus essential oil

Put grated soap in a large pot and add hot mint tea. Simmer for 15-20 minutes on low heat until soap has dissolved (don’t stir, as you will create bubbles). Add bi-carb, borax and essential oil. Pour into squirt bottle. Shake before use. Rinse well.
